A recent head-on collision has resulted in one death and two others hospitalized with injuries in Brighton Township. The car accident occurred at 11:35 a.m. on Aug. 1, on Pleasant Valley Road just south of Marathana Drive.
A witness at the scene of the auto accident claims that a red Honda Civic veered around a corner and began to pass over the center of the road as it drove northbound. As a silver Chevy Volt carrying a 55-year-old Brighton man and a 28-year-old Detroit woman neared them, the Civic crossed the centerline and collided with the Volt head-on. The witness rushed to the crash site to find the young woman through the windshield, severely injured. She was taken to University of Michigan Medical Center in critical condition. The male victim passed away at the scene. The driver of the Civic suffered minor injuries as a result of the fatal car accident.
The devastation that can be caused by a negligent driver, both to lives and to property, can be enormous. Whether the negligent driver is texting and driving or a drunk driver, the consequences are life-changing. A qualified attorney could provide services both in accident investigation or in bringing an auto accident claim on behalf of the victims. Interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence should begin as soon as possible in order to ensure that the facts are brought to light.
There may be liability for medical expenses due to injuries or compensation for wrongful death. Additionally, compensation for pain and suffering or emotional distress could be available in a wrongful death case involving a negligent driver. An experienced personal injury attorney may help to ensure proper compensation for the victims of an accident.
